“Love is how you stay alive, even after you are gone.”
―
Mitch Albom

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Liz. She was not only a blogger and collaborator here on TeachWriting, but she was sunshine - a friend, a confidant, and a radiant joy of light to all. Liz leaves behind two sweet children, aged 18 and 13, as well as a beloved fiancee and mother. She was a founding member of the TeachWriting crew and spent hundreds of hours over the past four years to make this blog a reality.

As we celebrate her life, we wanted to share some of her most popular content on TeachWriting as well as some of her best products for teaching secondary ELA in hopes of memorializing her outstanding work and invaluable contributions to our community of teachers.

Liz’s smile could light up the world around her. It was infectious. She was tender-hearted and truly cared about her friends, family, and the world at large. We love her dearly, and as Mitch Albom writes, “Love is truly how you stay alive, even after you are gone.” She will never be forgotten.

We invite you to celebrate an outstanding teacher’s life with us. Take a look at some of the blog posts and resources below that she has contributed to the online teaching community. Without a doubt, her work has made a difference for educators and students across the globe.
